For some time I have been thinking of creating a blog logo. The question was what is representative for me and the contents of my blog. For a while I thought of a garden theme but that would not cover it all. So I began thinking of sustainability and symbols. But I could still not come to a conclusion. Days went on and finally it came to me.
I have always had a passion for amphibians and especially frogs. I adore those cute little red-eyed tree/leaf frogs and the common frog is awesome as well. For years I collected frog figurines and likewise. Everybody who knew me well had their eyes open for frogs to give to me. And I was happy every time a new frog entered my home. But time changes and my obsession cold down and now all my frogs live in a box in the cellar.
As a biologist the frog have a deep connection to the science. At the university our faculty´s symbol was a frog on a lily pad. And frogs are used as environmental indicators since they are very sensitive creatures. And who does not want frogs in their garden pond?
Further more the frog is known as a symbol of transition due to their fascinating life circle. And you can say this blog is part of my personal transition. I am making changes in my life towards a sustainable living in all areas – individual, relations, environment, nature and so on.
My conclusion: A frog is a perfect symbol. What do you think of my logo?
